About SLAIS
The archives programme at UCL was established in 1947. UCL now offers a full-time and part-time MA/Diploma/Certificate in Archives and Records Management, which is primarily intended for graduates who intend to pursue a career in archives or records management within the United Kingdom, and a MA/Diploma/Certificate in Records and Archives Management (International) which is primarily for those pursuing, or intending to pursue, their career outside the UK. These two programmes are taught in parallel, and some modules are shared with programmes in Library and Information Studies and Electronic Communication and Publishing; students thus have the opportunity to work alongside others from a wide variety of backgrounds. Students are also accepted for advanced programmes in archives or records management at MRes, MPhil and PhD level, and the teaching staff are active in research and publication nationally and internationally.
