Publications supporting Digital Culture

The DigiCULT project is a support measure within the Information Society Technologies Programme, which provides a technology watch mechanism for the cultural and scientific sector. In order to encourage early take up of new technological developments, DigiCULT will produce and disseminate seven newsletters, seven thematic issues and three Technology Watch reports.

The DigiCULT report presents the results of the strategic study "Technological Landscapes for Tomorrow's Cultural Economy - DigiCULT" completed in 2001.
The report covers: national policies & initiatives, organisational change, exploitation, and technologies for cultural heritage institutions.
It addresses the key issues that were selected on the basis of input from over 180 experts and provides recommendations for policy and decision makers in the cultural heritage sector.
It also includes a "situation analysis", ie an overview of the present situation and perspectives of the cultural sector 1996 - 2001 - 2006.
